new to bouldering?

Bouldering is the preferred form of climbing for many because it is an incredibly accessible sport. Our facility even includes an area dedicated to brand new climbers, and our team is excited to give you a few tips to begin crushing boulders. If you are completely new to bouldering, all you need to do is stop by our front desk, and we will hand you a pair of climbing shoes, give you a few pointers, and you will begin a journey on what many consider a life-long hobby.

Common questions

“Do I need an appointment?”

No appointment needed! Come drop in, and we will get you climbing in no time!

“What should I wear?”

We encourage climbers to wear normal exercise attire.

“Do I need climbing gear?”

We require climbers to wear climbing shoes. We offer rental shoes if you do not have them.

"How hard is bouldering?”

Bouldering has a wide array of difficulty, ranging from something easier than a ladder all the way to huge jumps and leaps to tiny holds. We have clearly marked each boulder with a difficulty rating. There are many boulders that simulate a ladder and many expert-level problems; however, most of our boulders fall in between those two levels.

“How long do people stay?”

If you are new to the sport, expect to climb for roughly two hours. The great thing about bouldering is the climbs are often short, and there are many places to hangout and take a break.

“What ages can climb?”

We have a dedicated space for younger climbers, and we have youth members who are 4 years-old! Our oldest member is in their 70s! Bouldering is truly a life-long sport. If you can climb a ladder, follow instruction, and are motivated, bouldering is for you!

“How often do you change boulders?”

Each boulder has a two month lifespan. We set new boulders every Wednesday and Friday morning.

“Can I bring food?”

We offer grab-and-go snacks and drinks, and we allow outside food and beverage.
